Rakuten Fashion Week Tokyo 2025 Spring/Summer, which will be held over six days from Monday, September 2 to Saturday, September 7, 2024, has announced its official schedule and participating brands.
According to the Japan Fashion Week Organization (JFWO), a total of 33 brands will participate this season, with 26 brands presenting physically and 7 brands presenting digitally. The main venues for the shows will continue to be Shibuya Hikarie and Omotesando Hills, as in the previous season.
Building on the slogan “OPEN, FASHION WEEK” from 2024, the upcoming 2025 season will be themed “FASHION FANFARE,” showcasing the latest and highest quality creations. As a festival of fashion, it aims to highlight the joy and magnificence of fashion through various events.
Kicking off this season’s fashion week will be TELMA by Terumasa Nakajima, with the opening runway show at 11:30 AM on Monday, September 2. The finale of this season will once again feature Kunihiko Morinaga’s anrealage homme.
Rakuten, the title sponsor of the fashion week, will support the runway show for sulvam by Teppei Fujita through its “by R” project, which empowers Japanese designer fashion. This show will celebrate the 10th anniversary of sulvam and involve students from Bunka Fashion College, Fujita’s alma mater, in the collection’s production, aiming to nurture the next generation of young talent.
Other notable participating brands include SHINYAKOZUKA, VIVIANO, and yoshiokubo, which have gained recognition through awards and the “by R” project in recent years.
During the fashion week, several related events will be held, including “TRANOÏ TOKYO S/S 25” in partnership with JFWO, “TOKYO AI Fashion Week 2025 S/S” celebrating generative AI and fashion, Denim Run TOKYO, and a special collection by J∞QUALITY.
On Sunday, September 1, ahead of the official schedule, the “TOKYO FASHION AWARD 2025” winner announcement and a preview party for industry insiders will be held at Omotesando Hills. On Saturday, September 7, at 1:30 PM, JFWO will host the award ceremony for the “JFW NEXT BRAND AWARD 2025” winner.
