On March 6, British designer brand Self-Portrait announced a new partnership with BLACKPINK’s Jisoo for its new campaign.
Founded by Malaysian-born fashion designer Han Chong, the London-based brand is known for its signature feminine dresses featuring delicate lace and embroidery.
In this campaign photo shoot in Seoul, South Korea, Jisoo wore items from the self-portrait Spring/Summer 2024 collection. She showed off a bright glittery pink halter dress trimmed with black lines and embellished with flowers, as well as a one-shoulder bodycon dress covered in orange and pink rhinestones. Pink-based eyeshadow and glossy lipstick brought in a springtime feel to the makeup, which matched beautifully with the bright pink of the dress.
Jisoo was recently appointed as the new face of Alo Yoga in January of this year. She also celebrated her second year as a Cartier ambassador in May and her third year as Dior’s global fashion and beauty ambassador this March. Actually, this work with Self Portrait is the first collaboration with the brand since Jisoo launched her agency, Blissoo.
This is also the first time for Self Portrait to feature a music artist like Jisoo as the face of the campaign. In the past, the brand’s campaigns have primarily worked with models, including Emily Ratajkowski, Gigi Hadid, Irina Shayk, and Bella Hadid. and Bella Hadid.
Han Chong, Self-Portrait’s founder and creative director, said in a statement as follows: “We first started working with Jisoo many years ago, dressing her both on and off the stage, so having her front our campaign was a natural next step — it encapsulates the trajectory of the relationships we strive to nurture with those that we are fortunate enough to work with.”
“Watching her journey to becoming a global icon has been so inspiring not only to me, but to a legion of fans. She is a role model to so many — kind, inspiring, sensitive and a pillar of strength — I wanted her beauty, both inside and out, to be front and center of this first series of portraits we shot together in Seoul.”
