German-born designer Tissa Fontaneda has unveiled the Spring/Summer 2025 collection under her eponymous brand. Inspired by the film The English Patient, this collection transforms the grandeur of the movie’s landscapes and romantic storytelling into a refined color palette and intricate designs.
A Color Palette Reflecting the Vast Sahara Desert
The Spring/Summer 2025 collection introduces three new colors inspired by scenes from The English Patient: Desert Sand, Coral Blue, and Assisi Blue. Additionally, the brand’s signature colors, Red Marrakesh and Sky Blue, have been refined to achieve a more sophisticated tone.
Speaking to OSF about the collection’s color palette, Fontaneda shares:
“I was particularly inspired by the sweeping landscapes of the Sahara which I incorporated through warm, sandy hues, our signature bubble leather paired with raffia textures. We introduced new colours Desert Sand, Coral Blue, and Assisi Blue and revamped colours Red Marrakesh and Sky Blue to pay homage to the film. The film’s romantic and adventurous themes were reinterpreted through the flowing and unrestricted silhouettes and in the versatility of the pieces with unexpected detailing.”
This new color palette is featured not only in iconic bags such as Tango, Figaro, and Mirage but also in popular models from the AW24 collection, including Giselle and Victoria. The SS25 lineup also includes two new handbags: Bohème, crafted from the brand’s signature nappa leather, and Sarab, available in both nappa leather and a summer-ready raffia version.
“The new styles, the Bohème and Sarab, are the perfect additions to the wider collection through their timeless yet stand out silhouettes and colourways. The new styles reinvent our popular styles by blending beloved detailing and refined structuring,” Fontaneda explains.
Additionally, new small leather goods such as the Cherie, Sayuri, and Bob cardholders make their debut this season. Meanwhile, refreshed designs like Variety Junior, New Provence, Victoria, and Giselle are now available in SS25’s signature color combinations, including Cowboy & Desert Sand and Cream Beige & Mint Green.

Building on its official launch last season, Tissa Fontaneda’s ready-to-wear collection continues to evolve. This season introduces a versatile selection of tunics, kaftans, long blouses, and scarves, allowing for effortless styling and layering.
Among the standout pieces are the Kip Skirt and Mahara Dress. The Kip Skirt is a safari-style cotton skirt featuring a soft tassel belt and is available in two color variations. The Mahara Dress is an elegant evening gown crafted from semi-transparent bubble jacquard silk, featuring a striking open-back design.
