On July 25, The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) announced the tentative official schedule for New York Fashion Week (NYFW) to be held this September.
New York Fashion Week will take place over six days from Friday, September 8 through Wednesday, September 13, as brands present its Spring/Summer 2024 collections. The fashion extravaganza will open with Peter Do’s debut show as creative director of Helmut Lang, and the final day will conclude with a show by LUAR, led by Raul Lopez, winner of the Accessory Designer of the Year award at the 2022 CFDA Fashion Awards.
As of the current schedule, over 71 designers are confirmed to participate, and additional collections will be presented digitally and by appointment only.
According to CFDA, Ralph Lauren will make a comeback this season on the New York runway. Jonathan Cohen and 3.1 Phillip Lim will also return to the week.

Among those participating for the first time are Advisry, Chan Chit Lo, FFORME, Grace Ling, and Sho Konishi.
This year’s CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalists Colin LoCascio, Diotima, Kim Shui, Kozaburo, Melitta Masterbuilder, Melitta Baumeister, Sami Miró Vintage, Tanner Fletcher, Who Decides War, and Zankov will also participate in the collection showcase.
“New York Fashion Week is an integral part of New York City’s vibrant culture and sense of constant evolution and discovery,” said CFDA CEO Steven Kolb, on the CFDA’s official website. “This season’s official New York Fashion Week schedule plays to this sentiment and will once again showcase the best of American fashion, both emerging and established. We’re excited to see the return of Ralph Lauren, Jonathan Cohen, and 3.1 Phillip Lim to the New York runway, adding to the week’s energy,” he continued.
