On May 6, French fashion brand A.P.C. announced the appointment of Ludivine Poiblanc as its new Artistic Director. Rooted in the brand’s long-standing philosophy of “radical simplicity,” the appointment signals the beginning of a new creative phase for the Paris-based label.
A Creative Eye Shaped Through Years in Fashion
Throughout her career, Poiblanc has contributed to leading fashion publications, including Vanity Fair and Vogue, while also advising fashion houses on product development and visual identity. In her new role, she will oversee the overall direction of A.P.C.’s image strategy and visual universe.
Stephanie Phair, President of A.P.C., commented on the appointment: “I am delighted to welcome Ludivine to this next exciting chapter at A.P.C. The business is focused on targeted growth by continuing to bring to life what makes A.P.C. unique in the market — its deep heritage in denim and accessories and a ready-to-wear offering that speaks to a customer with a point of view.”
Founder Jean Touitou also expressed confidence in Poiblanc’s creative sensibility and personality: “Not only Ludivine has shown her genuine talent as a stylist through her impressive career, but her personality, personal style and wit make me confident that she will embody the brand I founded in 1987 and write a new chapter to A.P.C.’s adventure, respectful of the past and imaginative for the future.”
Meanwhile, Poiblanc herself spoke about her admiration for the brand’s long-established aesthetic: “Joining A.P.C. as Artistic Director and continuing Judith and Jean Touitou’s legacy is a unique opportunity. I’ve always been drawn to its radical simplicity — an archetypal wardrobe shaped by a quiet sense of dissidence and a distinctly French attitude.”
Debut Collection to Be Presented in Milan and Paris
Poiblanc’s debut collection for A.P.C. will first be unveiled in a showroom presentation in Milan on May 20, followed by a runway presentation at Rue Madame in Paris on June 15.
