On February 26, Fendi marked its 100th anniversary with the unveiling of its highly anticipated Fall/Winter 2025 collection. The show took place at Spazio FENDI, a newly established space in Rome that meticulously recreates the atmosphere of the brand’s historic boutique and atelier on Via Borgognona.
Inside, luxurious carpets, shimmering chandeliers, and classic divans set the stage, evoking an air of nostalgia. This setting harks back to a time when the five Fendi sisters—Alda, Anna, Carla, Franca, and Paola—worked, played, and laid the foundation of the house.
In this historically rich venue, Silvia Venturini Fendi honored the brand’s five-generation legacy while presenting a vision that propels Fendi into the future. The collection was a testament to the house’s heritage and continuous evolution, capturing the essence of timeless elegance.

A Legacy Passed Down Through Generations
“I didn’t want to spend too much time dwelling on the physical archives. For me, Fendi 100 is more about my personal memories – real or imagined – of what Fendi was and what Fendi means today.”
These words from Silvia Venturini Fendi set the tone for a collection that was not a mere retrospective. Instead, it sought to reinterpret the brand’s essence and spirit through a contemporary lens, crafting a new chapter in Fendi’s story.
The show opened with a touching moment as Silvia’s grandsons, Dardo & Tazio Vascellari Fendi, made their debut on the runway. The 7-year-old twins wore miniature versions of the equestrian ensemble Karl Lagerfeld designed in 1967, which Silvia herself had once worn at the same age. As they gracefully pushed open the doors, their presence symbolized the continuation of Fendi’s legacy across generations, adding an emotional depth to the celebration.

Where Innovation and Elegance Intersect
Blending classic sartorial craftsmanship with modern sensibilities, the Fall/Winter 2025 collection radiated timeless elegance. The first look featured a fur coat with a high collar, cinched at the waist with a gold belt, creating a silhouette that flowed with effortless sophistication.
Additionally, intarsia, honeycomb, and Gheronato patchwork techniques, once reserved for mink and sable, were innovatively applied to shearling, redefining luxury in a contemporary context. The craftsmanship imbued the materials with a rich texture and depth, reinforcing Fendi’s unwavering commitment to innovation.

This season’s silhouettes showcased oversized, rounded dresses and coats cinched at the waist with ultra-thin belts, striking a delicate balance between softness and elegance. The flowing forms, coupled with subtle waist definitions, exemplified Fendi’s mastery of refined tailoring.
The midpoint of the show brought a dazzling spectacle—glistening bejeweled dresses, skirts, knit tops, and pumps adorned with sequins, capturing the celebratory essence of a grand nighttime fête. The shimmering embellishments reflected the light, creating an atmosphere of exuberance and festivity.
Further enriching the collection were satin ball skirts, ruffled collared jackets, and marble toned pleated dresses, paying homage to the grandeur of Roman architecture and culture. The color palette mirrored the twilight hues of the Roman skyline, transitioning from deep forest green and petrol blue to warm cinnamon and scarlet. This gradual shift in tones poetically depicted the changing hues of the city’s evening sky, adding a dreamlike quality to the collection.

Outerwear as a Signature Statement
Outerwear remained a defining element of Fendi’s signature aesthetic, making a strong statement throughout the collection. The lineup featured low-cut men’s coats, satin-lined blazers, and oversized lambskin trench coats, each showcasing meticulous tailoring and refined craftsmanship.
Fendi’s classic shearling stoles were also reimagined, layered over gem-toned cardigans and sheer blouses, seamlessly blending timeless elegance with a modern sense of lightness. This fusion of heritage and contemporary luxury resonated throughout the collection, reaffirming Fendi’s commitment to innovation and sophistication.

The Evolution of Fendi’s Signature Accessories
In the accessories lineup, the “Fendi Giano” bag made its debut, featuring a sculptural silhouette with elegantly curved lines. Additionally, the 2005 “Spy Bag” was revived in sorbet-colored shearling, bringing a fresh, contemporary allure to the beloved design.
Furthermore, the iconic “Baguette” and “Peekaboo” bags were reinterpreted with disco-inspired sequins and exotic leathers, infusing their timeless appeal with renewed energy and vibrancy.
Jewelry featured exquisite designs by Delfina Delettrez Fendi, including chandelier earrings, snake-chain chokers, and sterling silver obelisks. These pieces added a poetic sense of elegance and an ethereal allure to minimalist ensembles, further enriching the collection’s artistic vision.

Fendi: Moving Beyond 100 Years into the Future
