Former Gucci CEO Marco Bizzarri Joins Board of Sneaker Brand Golden Goose

On April 23, it was announced that former Gucci CEO Marco Bizzarri has joined the board of directors of sneaker brand Golden Goose. Golden Goose, owned by Permira Holdings LLP, announced in a statement dated today.

The brand is known as the Italian luxury sneaker maker favored by celebrities such as Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez and is currently preparing for a listing in Milan.

The most anticipated potential initial public offering in Italy is expected to be between 3 and 4 billion euros, and the IPO could take place as early as May or June of this year on the Milan Stock Exchange.

Bizzarri stepped down as CEO of Gucci last year after eight years in the position. During his tenure, Bizzarri is credited with leading Gucci to success, appointing Alessandro Michele as chief designer, and boosting the brand’s sales to a significant €9.6 billion ($10 billion.)

Earlier this month, it was reported that Bizzarri had founded his own investment company, Nessifashion, in Rome in February.
