On June 18, HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE unveiled its Spring/Summer 2026 menswear collection in the gardens of Villa Medicea della Petraia, nestled in the outskirts of Florence, Italy. As the Guest of Honor at the 108th edition of Pitti Immagine Uomo, the brand presented a collection born from local research under a new concept titled Open Studio.

More than just a collection presentation, Open Studio serves as an experimental platform for creative exploration across geographies. Through a journey spanning Venice, Cinque Terre, and Tuscany, the design team sought to merge Japanese craftsmanship with Italian aesthetics. The color palette—reminiscent of wine and fresh vegetables—captures the memory of the region’s hues, composing a visual poem of its own. The show’s staging featured a water-themed installation: fountains, sprinklers, and mist conjured fleeting rainbows and splashes that echoed the garments’ movement, creating a poetic dialogue between clothing and space.

In parallel with the runway show, the exhibition Amid Impasto of Horizons was held, offering a tactile and visual narrative of the pleating process—a quiet moment where fabric breathes and volume is born.
