On June 19, Niccolò Pasqualetti presented his Spring/Summer 2026 menswear collection at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in Florence. Marking his debut in menswear, the presentation was held as part of the official schedule for Pitti Immagine Uomo 108, where Pasqualetti participated as a guest designer. Through 33 distinct looks, the designer deliberately blurred the conventional frameworks of gender, time of day, and function, shining a light on the transformative power that clothing inherently holds.

The collection draws from traditionally structured vocabularies of clothing—military uniforms, workwear, sportswear, and tailoring—only to dismantle and reassemble them into entirely new formats. Each piece functions not as a fixed type, but as a fragment repositioned in new contexts.

For instance, a swimsuit-like waistband peeks out from beneath fatigue trousers, a tank top is layered under a sheer shirt, and coarse wool contrasts with cotton textured like dried pigment. Each styling challenges conventional dress codes, presenting beauty not in uniformity, but in deliberate contrast that captivates the eye.

The designer’s vision is also evident in his choice of materials. Raw denim is adorned with delicate embroidery reminiscent of Sashiko, blending ruggedness with craft. Silk and linen are placed beside unevenly dyed cotton, while laser-cut suede evokes camouflage patterns without relying on literal imitation, delivering a distinct and self-assured aesthetic.

Constructed Anew Through the Reordering of Boundaries

Structural reconstruction extends down to the finest details of the silhouette. Trousers split boldly below the knee, shorts flare like skirts, shirts fall from the shoulder, and tops are twisted at the waist. Each garment seems to reexamine how it relates to the body and how it may be worn. Asymmetrical shapes and intentional cut-outs strike a delicate balance between improvisation and precision.

Without loud declarations, Pasqualetti’s Spring/Summer 2026 menswear collection quietly stimulates the viewer through intricate detailing and sophisticated construction. Not perfection defines this collection, but openness—clothing that embraces change and uncertainty. Perhaps this is the foundation upon which individual style is redefined in our time.
