On July 13, U.S. department store Nordstrom announced the appointment of fashion journalist and editor Brooke Bobb as vice president and fashion director.

Bobb will join the company in August, succeeding Rickie De Sole, who departed Nordstrom in spring 2026. Based in New York, she will oversee the retailer’s fashion direction across all categories and report directly to Jamie Nordstrom, chief merchandising officer.

Summary

  • Nordstrom has named Brooke Bobb vice president and fashion director, effective August 2026
  • Based in New York, Bobb will lead seasonal fashion direction across all categories and help bring that vision to life across stores, online, and marketing
  • Bobb most recently served as fashion news director at Harper’s Bazaar and previously held editorial roles at Amazon Luxury Stores and Vogue
  • The appointment comes as Nordstrom continues to strengthen its luxury and designer business

Bringing an Editorial Perspective Across Stores and Digital Platforms

In her new role, Bobb will establish Nordstrom’s seasonal fashion direction and translate that vision across the company’s stores, digital platforms, and marketing activities.

She will work closely with merchandising leaders and brand partners, attend global fashion weeks, and support major industry moments and customer events. Bobb will also serve as a media spokesperson for the company on fashion and trend-related topics.

Her responsibilities will extend beyond product selection. She will help shape the broader context around trends and personal style, creating a consistent fashion narrative across Nordstrom’s various customer touchpoints.

Commenting on the appointment, Jamie Nordstrom said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Brooke to Nordstrom. Brooke has a strong combination of editorial credibility and commercial instinct. She understands how people discover and engage with style today, and how to translate that into something meaningful for our business. We believe her vision will elevate how we show up for our customers, our brand partners, and our teams.”

Experience Across Fashion Media and Retail

Bobb brings nearly two decades of experience spanning fashion journalism, editorial strategy, and digital media.

Most recently, she served as fashion news director at Harper’s Bazaar, where she covered industry news, emerging trends, and influential designers, primarily across the publication’s digital platforms.

Before joining Harper’s Bazaar, Bobb was senior content editor at Amazon Luxury Stores, overseeing brand strategy, seasonal campaigns, and a social media ambassador program.

Earlier in her career, she worked as an associate editor at T: The New York Times Style Magazine before joining Vogue as a senior fashion news writer. At Vogue, she reviewed collections, analyzed trends, and reported on emerging designers.

Nordstrom Strengthens Its Luxury Business

The appointment comes as Nordstrom continues to expand its luxury and designer offering.

The retailer, which marks its 125th anniversary in 2026, has introduced exclusive products and special initiatives with luxury houses including Chanel, Christian Louboutin, and Brunello Cucinelli. Alongside strengthening relationships with established luxury brands, the company has also increased its focus on discovering and supporting emerging designers.

With experience combining editorial storytelling and content strategy within a retail environment, Bobb brings a perspective that reflects Nordstrom’s efforts to connect product, storytelling, and customer experience more closely.
