This fall, UNIQLO will debut a new women’s line, UNIQLO: C.
Uniqlo teamed up with fashion designer Clare Waight Keller to announce the release of a new women’s collection, “UNIQLO: C.” Its fall/winter 2023 collection will go on sale on Friday, September 15, 2023. UNIQLO’s highly functional, everyday wearable lifestyle wear will be further revolutionized with the addition of Wight Keller’s subtle, soft designs, use of color, and modern silhouettes.
The concept of “UNIQLO : C” represents Clare Waight Keller’s “C” along with many of the words that inspired the collection, such as Curiosity, Conversation, City, Clarity, Connection, and Creativity. Based on the various elements that “C” symbolizes, Waight Keller will develop a collection that emphasizes comfort and functionality to accompany people in their daily lives, by fusing her own outstanding skills and sophisticated design refined through her extensive experience.
For example, the classic trench coat was made of gabardine twill fabric that can be worn all year round for a casual yet chic look. Puftek blousons and coats featured high-performance padding that was lightweight and insulated well. Soft and shiny satin fabrics were transformed into beautifully pleated long skirts using heat press technology.
In addition, casual pants, chiffon pleated skirts, and dresses in beautiful delicate floral and paisley prints, knits in relaxed silhouettes, compact cardigans, boyfriend-style half-zip sweaters, and other attractive items that will upgrade your fall and winter wardrobe to a more sophisticated style. The iconic “round shoulder bag” is also equipped with a soft and sophisticated leather touch material and a wide variety of shoes are available to finish off the styling.
In a Japanese statement, Waight Keller said, “I am honored to be creating a new women’s line for UNIQLO. UNIQLO’s design philosophy of pursuing innovative technology and functionality has long been something I have come to appreciate.”
“I have always admired the Japanese aesthetic of subtle simplicity and perfect detail, and I am thrilled to be working with the talented team at UNIQLO to bring a new sense of style to womenswear, and to do so on a global scale,” she continued.
Clare Waight Keller has worked for a number of fashion houses and as creative director for the finest luxury brands in London and Paris, where she has worked on collections ranging from ready-to-wear to haute couture. In 2018, she was awarded “Womenswear Designer of the Year” at the British Fashion Awards. In 2019, she was also named one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time magazine.
The “UNIQLO : C” Fall/Winter 2023 collection will be available at over 1,500 UNIQLO stores worldwide and on UNIQLO’s e-commerce site from September 15. The collection consists of 30 items, including UNIQLO’s first foray into footwear, the vegan leather Chelsea boot.
