Miu Miu will host its multidisciplinary project Tales & Tellers at New York’s Terminal Warehouse in Manhattan on May 10 and 11, 2025.
This marks the second edition of the installation, following its debut in Paris in October 2024. Conceived by Miuccia Prada, the project draws inspiration from the brand’s acclaimed short film series Miu Miu Women’s Tales and the artistic interventions featured in its runway shows from Spring/Summer 2022 through Spring/Summer 2025. At its core, Tales & Tellers is a creative experiment that elevates storytelling as an art form through the lens of female creators.
The project is directed by Goshka Macuga, a Polish-born artist based in London, and curated by Elvira Dyangani Ose, Director of the Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA). The spatial installation is designed by OMA / AMO, further enhancing the immersive experience.
In this New York iteration, characters from Miu Miu’s creative archive—spanning past shows and short films—are brought back to life through live performance. Actors reinterpret these figures in parallel with video projections of the original works, weaving together movement, voice, and spatial expression into a layered narrative. The result is a dynamic convergence of performance and visual storytelling, inviting the audience to experience each tale through both sensory and physical dimensions.
While the Paris debut transformed the Palais d’Iéna into a symbolic “public square,” the New York edition shifts the setting to the theme of the “city at night.” A moody, dreamlike space evokes the city’s dimly lit streets, blurring the line between reality and illusion. This environment raises deeper questions about the nature of space, intimacy, public life, and identity.
The event also includes a screening of all 29 short films from the Women’s Tales series, reinforcing the project’s focus on female perspectives across media. As fashion, film, and performance converge organically, Tales & Tellers reexamines Miu Miu’s creative legacy while illuminating multifaceted expressions of femininity.
Ultimately, Tales & Tellers is not just an exhibition—it is a poetic and experimental dialogue between narrative, narrator, and space, leaving visitors with lasting questions and impressions.
