Acne Studios, the Swedish brand known for its fluid aesthetic bridging art and fashion, is opening its first permanent gallery space in Paris: Acne Paper Palais Royal. The gallery will open to the public on June 26, 2025, and is located within the historic arcades of Palais Royal, where the brand launched its first store outside Scandinavia in 2008. The former boutique space will be reborn as a multifunctional cultural venue, hosting exhibitions, artist talks, magazine launches, and more.

The gallery brings to life the world of Acne Paper, the brand’s culture magazine, first launched in 2005. Curated by editor-in-chief Thomas Persson and Lotta Nilsson, who oversees creative projects and publishing at Acne Studios, the space reflects the publication’s multidisciplinary spirit.

A cocktail reception is scheduled for June 25 during Paris Fashion Week Men’s, ahead of the official opening. The inaugural exhibition, opening on June 26, will be a solo show titled 2025 by Dutch photographer Paul Kooiker. Known for shooting Acne’s Fall 2022 campaign featuring Rosalía and contributing to the latest issue of Acne Paper, Kooiker presents 42 portraits of students from the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam. Through these works, he reimagines traditional school portraiture with a contemporary sense of tension and stillness.

Acne Studios has long integrated art into its brand identity. At its Greene Street store in New York, the brand recently exhibited works by artist Jonathan Lyndon Chase in conjunction with Frieze New York. Meanwhile, Acne’s new Paris headquarters, set to be officially unveiled in September 2025, will feature installations by longtime collaborators Daniel Silver and Max Lamb.
