On June 18, luxury jeweler Tiffany & Co. announced a new chapter in its ongoing collaboration with contemporary artist Daniel Arsham. The latest creation, titled the “Bronze Eroded Penny Vessel”, houses a specially crafted Tiffany & Arsham Studio HardWear Necklace—a fusion of fine jewelry and fine art, limited to just 39 pieces worldwide.
The necklace reinterprets an archival Tiffany design from 1971 through a contemporary lens. Crafted from 18k white gold, the piece is adorned with approximately 1,000 diamonds (totaling over 6 carats) and around 500 tsavorites (over 3 carats in total). Each necklace is meticulously handmade at Arsham’s New York studio, reflecting the artist’s signature approach to materiality and detail.
The sculptural Bronze Eroded Penny Vessel draws from Arsham’s celebrated Future Relics series, combining Tiffany’s 1885 adaptation of the U.S. Great Seal with Arsham’s 2013 work Study of the Eroded Penny. The result is a striking object that juxtaposes patinated bronze with polished crystal, symbolizing a seamless connection between past, present, and future.
Presented in a custom Tiffany Blue® wooden box with metal fasteners, the piece also comes with white gloves bearing the logos of both Tiffany and Arsham Studio, underscoring its status as a collectible artwork as much as a luxury accessory.
“My work explores the idea of history as a living, evolving entity, and Tiffany & Co. shares that same reverence for craftsmanship and heritage,” said Arsham. “This collaboration has allowed me to push my ‘future relics’ concept even further, transforming an iconic symbol into something completely new. I’m incredibly grateful to Tiffany & Co. for embracing this vision.”
Tiffany and Arsham are united by a shared vision: honoring craftsmanship while pushing the boundaries of artistic expression. This limited-edition series offers more than a statement necklace—it presents a new horizon where art and luxury coexist, reimagined as timeless relics of the future.
