Founded in 1875 in Le Brassus, in the Vallee de Joux, Audemars Piguet is one of the last remaining independent family-owned haute horlogerie manufacturers. The founders, Jules Louis Audemars and Edward Auguste Piguet, established a tradition of complicated watchmaking that continues to this day, with the brand remaining in the hands of the founding families.
The Royal Oak
The Royal Oak, designed by Gerald Genta and launched in 1972, revolutionized the watch industry as the first luxury sports watch in stainless steel. Its distinctive octagonal bezel with exposed screws became one of the most iconic designs in horology, inspiring the entire luxury sports watch category.
