Fashion’s Court Jester
Franco Moschino founded his eponymous brand in 1983 with a mission to challenge the pretensions of the fashion industry through irreverent humor and pop-art-inspired design. His playful subversion of luxury codes, from McDonald’s-inspired collections to questioning the very concept of fashion, established a unique voice that combined sharp social commentary with genuine design talent.
Jeremy Scott Era
Under Jeremy Scott’s creative direction from 2013 to 2023, Moschino amplified its pop culture connections to new heights. Scott’s viral collections, including the Barbie, McDonald’s, and SpongeBob themes, made Moschino one of fashion’s most talked-about brands on social media.
New Chapter
With the appointment of Adrian Appiolaza in 2024, Moschino enters a new phase. The brand’s challenge is to maintain its distinctive playful identity while evolving beyond the purely pop-culture-driven approach of the Scott era.
