Needles is a Japanese fashion brand founded by Keizo Shimizu in 1995 as part of the Nepenthes group in Tokyo. The brand has become a cult favorite for its distinctive take on Americana, reworking vintage sportswear and workwear through a Japanese lens.
Needles is best known for its track pants featuring the brand’s signature butterfly embroidery and side stripes, which have been worn by everyone from A$AP Rocky to Zion Williamson. The brand’s rebuild program, which reconstructs vintage garments into new pieces, pioneered the upcycling trend.
Despite its cult status, Needles maintains a relatively small operation, contributing to the exclusivity and collectibility of its pieces.
