On June 24, Louis Vuitton unveiled its Spring/Summer 2027 Menswear Collection in Paris. For Men’s Creative Director Pharrell Williams, the season marked a further evolution of the vision he has been shaping since joining the Maison. Drawing inspiration from surfing, the collection merged themes of travel, nature, and contemporary dandyism into a cohesive narrative.
Among the notable guests in attendance were Victor Wembanyama, Léon Marchand, j-hope, Gong Yoo, Jackson Wang, BamBam, Sho Hirano, and Yuto Horigome, alongside an international audience of celebrities, athletes, and cultural figures.

A Universal Sense of Belonging Through Surf Culture
At the heart of the collection was surfing, presented not merely as a sport but as a global lifestyle that transcends borders, cultures, and beliefs. The collection envisioned the ocean and coastline as places of universal belonging, while water emerged as a recurring symbol of life, opportunity, and humanity’s connection to nature.
Travel has long been a defining theme in Pharrell Williams’ work for Louis Vuitton, but this season expanded that perspective toward the natural world. By combining the free-spirited attitude of surfers journeying across coastlines with the Maison’s rich heritage of travel, Williams crafted a new narrative for menswear.
The Emergence of the “Surfer Dandy”
Central to the collection was a new archetype: the “Surfer Dandy,” a figure that blends the practicality of surf culture with the refinement of classic elegance.
Lightweight tailoring, relaxed jackets, easy-fitting shorts, and wide-leg trousers blurred the boundaries between formal and casual dressing. While rooted in traditional menswear tailoring, the garments incorporated functional elements designed for a lifestyle spent between the city and the coast.
The color palette further reinforced the theme, featuring vibrant blues, sandy neutrals, and warm sunset-inspired tones that evoked coastal landscapes and shifting natural light.
An Immersive Runway Shaped by the Ocean
The show unfolded within a dramatic set inspired by the sea. Monumental wave-like installations framed the runway, immersing guests in an environment that felt like a journey along the shoreline.
More than a theatrical backdrop, the set served as a visual expression of the collection’s central motif of water. Through both fashion and scenography, the show conveyed a message of harmony between humanity and nature, emphasizing respect for the environment and the interconnectedness of all living things.
The Continuing Evolution of Louis Vuitton Under Pharrell Williams
Since his appointment as Men’s Creative Director in 2023, Pharrell Williams has introduced new perspectives to Louis Vuitton menswear by drawing from music, culture, sport, and community. His approach has expanded the Maison’s traditional understanding of luxury while remaining rooted in its heritage.
For Spring/Summer 2027, that vision reached a new level of maturity. While honoring Louis Vuitton’s longstanding legacy of travel and craftsmanship, the collection also reflected a new generation’s values—one that prioritizes connection, freedom, and a deeper relationship with the natural world.
