Italian luxury house Prada has announced the fourteenth edition of its cultural program Prada Mode New York, set to take place at New York’s historic Hotel Chelsea. The private members club program will run from June 3–4, 2026, followed by public access from June 5–7.

  • Prada Mode New York will take place at Hotel Chelsea in June 2026

  • The venue will feature immersive installations and micro television studio-style performances

The project, titled “Satellites II,” is realized through a collaboration between Danish film director Nicolas Winding Refn and Japanese game creator Hideo Kojima. Known as one of New York’s most iconic cultural landmarks, Hotel Chelsea will serve as the backdrop for a fully immersive experience spanning the property’s layered architectural spaces. The project moves between public areas, domestic settings, and intimate environments, transforming the hotel itself into a narrative-driven spatial experience.

According to Prada’s official statement, “A spatial narrative reflects the balance between private environments and collective accessibility, while a classical yet progressive science fiction aesthetic reimagines the historic setting.” The project therefore merges the historic character of the hotel with a futuristic sci-fi-inspired visual language.

During the private program, select guest rooms will operate as “micro television studios,” hosting original performances for invited participants. These spaces will later reopen to the public as installations, shifting both their purpose and audience perception.

Beyond the hotel itself, additional site-specific works will appear throughout New York City, centered on the ongoing exchange of ideas between Refn and Kojima. Through film, language, culture, and media, the project explores communication and human connection across disciplines and borders.

The event will also feature an extensive cultural program including talks, concerts, screenings, performances, and reinterpretations of broadcast formats, alongside curated dining experiences.

The Evolution of Prada Mode as a Cultural Platform

In recent years, Prada Mode has evolved beyond the framework of a traditional brand event, establishing itself as an experimental cultural platform spanning fashion, film, architecture, music, and technology. In 2025, the thirteenth edition of Prada Mode in London presented “The Audience,” an installation by artist duo Elmgreen & Dragset. Held at Town Hall in King’s Cross during Frieze Week, the immersive project reconstructed a cinematic environment where real visitors coexisted alongside silicone sculptures, questioning contemporary structures of spectatorship and public experience.

In May 2025, Miu Miu also staged “Tales & Tellers” at Terminal Warehouse in New York’s Chelsea district. Based on the brand’s long-running film initiative “Women’s Tales,” the project was conceived by Polish artist Goshka Macuga and reimagined the brand’s universe through cinema, live performance, and immersive spatial storytelling.
