Dior has officially announced that actress and singer Anna Sawai has joined the house as its latest brand ambassador.
Sawai, who played the role of Toda Mariko in the 2024 drama series Shōgun, won both a Golden Globe and a Primetime Emmy Award for her performance. At the Emmys, she made history as the first actress of Asian descent—and the first Japanese actress—to win the award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, garnering widespread attention.
Regarding the appointment, Dior stated, “This unique alliance, rooted in creativity, celebrates the powerful ties between the house and culture in all its forms.” Sawai now joins a prestigious roster of Dior ambassadors, including Jenna Ortega, Sonam Kapoor, BLACKPINK’s Jisoo, Lewis Hamilton, Elisabeth Debicki, and Rosamund Pike, further solidifying her status as a global fashion icon.
Expressing her excitement about becoming an ambassador, Sawai shared, “Becoming a Dior ambassador is a dream come true. Dior represents timeless elegance, strength, and individuality—qualities I’ve always admired and aspired to embody. I’m so honored to join this iconic house and to celebrate its artistry and vision.”

Born on June 11, 1992, in Wellington, New Zealand, Sawai moved to Japan at the age of 10. The following year, she made her acting debut in a stage production of Annie. From 2013 to 2018, she was the lead vocalist of the J-pop group FAKY before transitioning back to acting. Her performances in Pachinko and Monarch: Legacy of Monsters further cemented her reputation as a rising international star.
In the fall of 2023, Sawai was also appointed as a brand ambassador for luxury jeweler Cartier. Additionally, in 2025, she was named the inaugural recipient of WWD’s Fashion Newcomer Style Award and graced the cover of The Perfect Magazine’s March issue, further solidifying her influence in the fashion world.
