Spanish Craft Heritage
Loewe traces its origins to 1846, when a group of Spanish leather artisans established a workshop in Madrid. German craftsman Enrique Loewe Roessberg joined the workshop and eventually gave the company his name, building a reputation for exceptional leather craftsmanship that earned a royal warrant from the Spanish crown.
Jonathan Anderson’s Revolution
The appointment of Northern Irish designer Jonathan Anderson as creative director in 2013 transformed Loewe from a respected but regional luxury brand into one of fashion’s most exciting global forces. Anderson’s intellectually playful designs, emphasis on craft, and cultural programming through the Loewe Foundation Craft Prize have made the brand a critical and commercial darling.
Rapid Growth
Under LVMH ownership and Anderson’s creative vision, Loewe has experienced extraordinary growth, becoming one of the fastest-growing brands in the luxury sector. The Puzzle bag, the Squeeze bag, and the brand’s distinctive approach to ready-to-wear have established a loyal and culturally engaged clientele.
