Dior to Hold Its Cruise 2025 Show in Scotland

French luxury house Dior has announced that its next Dior 2025 Cruise Show will take place on Monday, June 3 at historic Drummond Castle in Perthshire, Scotland.

Each season, the cruise shows are held in different destinations around the world and are created in collaboration with local artists and artisans, highlighting the traditional culture and craftsmanship that is rooted in the region.

Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri chose the Instituto de San Ildefonso in Mexico City as the setting for the 2024 cruise collection. The theme of the exhibition centered around Frida Kahlo, the renowned Mexican female painter. It was at the Instituto de San Ildefonso where Kahlo first encountered her husband, Diego Rivera, and where his notable mural is displayed.

Drummond Castle, the venue for this show, is hailed as Scotland’s most enchanting garden and gained fame as the backdrop for the 1995 film “Rob Roy.” Interestingly, this isn’t Dior’s inaugural visit to Scotland; back in 1955, for the spring collection, a ball was hosted at the nearby Gleneagles Hotel.

The Maison described the show in a press release as “A poetic invitation where past and future meet, celebrating the unique, powerful ties forged from the very beginnings of the House, for the autumn-winter 1947 défilé.”

Dior will no doubt present a dramatic show throughout its 2025 Cruise collection, paying homage to the 16th century harvest of Drummond Castle Gardens in Perthshire and recalling its extensive heritage.

In addition, dior’s Fall 2024 women’s ready-to-wear show is scheduled to take place at the Brooklyn Museum of Art in New York City on April 15.
