The Wear Testing Process
Structured wear testing programs recruit diverse testers who wear garments through normal daily activities, following prescribed wear-and-wash cycles. Testers evaluate and document: initial comfort and fit impression, fit retention after repeated wearing and washing, fabric durability (seam strength, pilling, snagging), color retention through wash cycles, functional performance (moisture management, stretch recovery, breathability), and overall satisfaction. Testing periods typically span 2-8 weeks depending on the product category.
