On June 8, French department store group Printemps announced that its Supervisory Board has appointed Rémy Baume as Chief Executive Officer of the Group.

Baume brings extensive experience in corporate strategy, business transformation, and operational management, and is widely recognized for his expertise in retail and branding. His appointment comes as Printemps seeks to strengthen its leadership structure to support future growth and transformation amid evolving consumer expectations and a rapidly changing retail landscape.

A New CEO to Lead the Next Phase of Transformation

According to Printemps, Baume has built a career overseeing a broad range of functions, from strategic planning and organizational transformation to business operations. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated the ability to deliver results in highly competitive environments.

Upon his appointment, Baume said: “Since its creation, Printemps has been one of the great innovators of modern commerce. Taking the reins of this pioneering institution is a sincere honor. The Supervisory Board also emphasized Baume’s ability to combine long-term vision with operational execution, as well as his deep understanding of retail and branding.

Coupled with his in-depth understanding of transformation, retail, and branding, this makes him a major asset in securing sustainable growth for Printemps.”

Strengthening the Executive Leadership Team

Founded in 1865, Printemps has long been one of France’s most prominent department store groups, playing a significant role in the luxury and fashion retail landscape. As the retail sector continues to evolve, the company has been focused on enhancing customer experience and reinforcing brand value.

In addition to the CEO appointment, the Group announced on May 28 a new leadership appointment within its finance division. Antony Rodrigues has been named Chief Financial and Administrative Officer and is expected to join the Group Executive Committee in 2026.

Rodrigues brings more than 20 years of experience in the retail industry. He began his career at Sephora in 2007 before spending eight years at menswear brand Celio, where he held several finance leadership roles, including Director of Group Management Control in 2018. He joined Printemps in 2019 as Director of Management Control and has since overseen the Group’s financial management operations. His appointment marks another key step in strengthening Printemps’ executive leadership team as the company enters its next phase of development.
