On January 12, Milan Fashion Week Men’s Fall/Winter 2024 opened with the unveiling of Creative Director Sabato De Sarno’s first Gucci men’s collection.

The show’s venue was Fonderia Carlo Macchi in Milan. The collection featured pieces that converted to men’s wear based on the women’s line shown at Milan Fashion Week last September. It was characterized by muted colors and sophisticated tailoring while drawing inspiration from the Gucci archives. There were floor-length overcoats with long slits, shiny leather jackets, double-breasted suit jackets stripped of buttons, jacquard workwear shirts, and trousers cut above the ankles.

The accessories that drew attention were an array of shiny Jackie handbags in burgundy, beige, and pea-green. The addition of color-matched gloves lent an appealing touch of color to Quiet Luxury.

De Sarno also just made headlines for designing the shimmering green custom-made dress worn by Taylor Swift at the 81st Annual Golden Globe Awards earlier this week.
