Centered on the themes of movement, memory, and craftsmanship, the collection draws from more than 25 years of creative experiences across New York, Peru, Rome, and beyond, bringing together the cultures and personal histories of these places into a contemporary wardrobe.

Summary

  • Sergio Davila unveiled his Spring/Summer 2027 collection, marking the brand’s first appearance on the official Milan Fashion Week Men’s calendar.
  • Centered on movement, memory, and craftsmanship, the collection reflects experiences shaped by San Francisco, New York, Peru, and Rome.
  • Traditional Peruvian materials, including Vicuña, Baby Alpaca, Pima Cotton, and Tangüis Cotton, were reimagined through crochet knitwear and sculptural cable knits for a contemporary wardrobe.
  • A collaboration with Peruvian illustrator Alvaro Felliu introduced a vibrant visual language of color, lightness, and summer ease.

A Collection Shaped by the Memory of Cities

The collection begins with the places that have defined Sergio Davila’s creative identity.

Late-1990s San Francisco instilled a sense of freedom and effortless individuality, while New York’s Meatpacking District—where Davila created his earliest collections in the early 2000s—introduced a more structured and urban rhythm. Peru, the brand’s foundation, continues to inform the collection through its traditional materials and longstanding craftsmanship.

During an extended stay in Rome between 2025 and 2026, Davila also found inspiration in the work of Baroque sculptor Gian Lorenzo Bernini. The sense of movement, softness, and sculptural tension found in Bernini’s work is translated into fluid silhouettes that wrap naturally around the body.

Reimagining Peruvian Craft for the Contemporary Wardrobe

At the heart of the collection is knitwear that reinterprets Peru’s textile heritage through a modern lens.

Using natural fibers including Vicuña, Baby Alpaca, Pima Cotton, and Tangüis Cotton, the collection showcases an array of artisanal techniques, from hand knitting and openwork crochet to sculptural cable knits. The result is a wardrobe defined by texture, lightness, and relaxed silhouettes.

Peruvian illustrator Alvaro Felliu also contributed to the season’s visual identity, introducing a fresh palette filled with vibrant colors and a light, summery atmosphere. His work complements the collection’s dialogue between traditional craftsmanship and contemporary creativity.

Crochet Knitwear Defines a Gender-Fluid Summer Wardrobe

Crochet knitwear and textured cable knits emerge as the defining elements throughout the presentation.

Rendered in a soft palette of ivory, sand beige, pale green, cobalt blue, and terracotta, the collection embraces relaxed, gender-fluid silhouettes. Openwork shorts, knitted vests, oversized cardigans, and sculptural knit jackets highlight the warmth and richness of artisanal craftsmanship.

The collection also expands beyond knitwear through vibrant blue tailoring, sequined tops, and architectural jackets, introducing a more contemporary edge. Styled with leather bags, loafers, and sneakers, the looks move seamlessly between resort dressing and urban sophistication.
