D’Attis brings more than 25 years of international experience in the luxury industry, with a strong track record in brand development, retail strategy, and client engagement. Most recently, he served as CEO of Prada, where he helped strengthen brand desirability and drive growth through a client-centric and disciplined management approach. Prior to that, he held senior leadership positions at LVMH and Richemont across Asia, the Americas, and Europe, leading business expansion and organizational transformation initiatives.
The appointment comes as Alexander McQueen enters a new phase focused on strengthening its market positioning and long-term profitability. The house is currently implementing a more disciplined operating model built around focused collections, an optimized retail network, and a streamlined organizational structure.
In his new role, D’Attis will oversee the next stage of the brand’s development, with a mandate to sharpen brand positioning, enhance operational execution, and improve financial performance.
Commenting on the appointment, Kering CEO Luca de Meo said, “I am very pleased to welcome Gianfranco to Kering. He brings a powerful combination of strategic vision, operational rigor and deep luxury expertise. His ability to sharpen brand identity while driving disciplined execution will be critical as we refocus Alexander McQueen and unlock its full potential. I am confident that, together with the teams, he will lead the House into its next phase of development.”
Kering also expressed its gratitude to Gianfilippo Testa, who has led Alexander McQueen in recent years. The group confirmed that Testa will leave Kering later this year and wished him success in his future endeavors.
The leadership change also comes as the house continues to strengthen the organization around Creative Director Seán McGirr, who joined Alexander McQueen in 2023. As the brand advances its ongoing transformation, the combination of renewed creative direction and strengthened executive leadership is expected to support the next phase of growth for the British luxury house.
