The organic grocer Erewhon has opened a new café at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), marking a new collaboration between the institution and the Southern California–based brand.

LACMA, widely recognized as one of Los Angeles’ leading cultural destinations, has partnered with Erewhon to launch its first-ever in-museum café, “Erewhon at LACMA.”

The café officially opened on April 19, 2026, in alignment with the opening season of the David Geffen Galleries. Following a members-only preview period, it became accessible to the general public on May 4. The café is expected to operate through the summer and is likely to become an integral part of the overall visitor experience.

The design of the space reflects a deliberate integration of art and dining. Located in the northeast pavilion of the W.M. Keck Plaza, the café overlooks Alexander Calder’s 1964 kinetic fountain sculpture, Three Quintains (Hello Girls). With both indoor and outdoor seating, the space functions as a seamless extension of the museum experience, connecting art appreciation with moments of rest.

The menu embodies Erewhon’s long-established brand philosophy. Offerings include organic coffee and matcha, fresh pastries, signature smoothies, and cold-pressed juices, alongside a range of grab-and-go meals and organic snacks. Popular items that have contributed to the brand’s recent surge in visibility—particularly its signature smoothies—are also featured, reinforcing its cultural resonance while expanding its connection with the local community within a museum setting.

For LACMA, the initiative represents a strategic move to enhance visitor engagement and dwell time, while for Erewhon, it marks its first collaboration with a museum—signaling a new phase in the brand’s expansion.

Michael Govan, CEO and Wallis Annenberg Director of LACMA, commented: “We are excited to launch Erewhon at LACMA for the opening season of the David Geffen Galleries. Erewhon is a Los Angeles icon that values creativity and wellbeing and is dedicated to its communities. We look forward to working together on delicious offerings for our diverse, intergenerational visitors. A moment of respite at Erewhon at LACMA, surrounded by public art, will be a vital part of the LACMA experience.”

Tony Antoci, CEO and owner of Erewhon, and Josephine Antoci, president and owner, added: “We’re so proud to partner with LACMA, a meaningful milestone as our first museum collaboration. It really feels like a celebration of Los Angeles, bringing Erewhon and LACMA together to nourish and inspire the community we love.”

Erewhon at LACMA is the first of three new dining concepts planned for the museum, with a full-service restaurant and wine bar scheduled to open later this year. Through these additions, LACMA aims to further evolve from a place of viewing into a destination for extended cultural and lifestyle experiences.

Additionally, on May 13, Dior is set to present its 2027 Cruise show at the museum’s new David Geffen Galleries, further reinforcing LACMA’s position as a key intersection of art, culture, and fashion.
